We bought our first kayaks at Rutabaga in 1995: the most beautiful Wilderness Systems Kevlar Sealutions with teal racing stripes and a Current Designs SS Solstice. We finally replaced those boats with Swift Saranec 15's thanks to the wise guidance of Darren Bush, Rutabaga owner and Paddling Evangelist. Rutabaga offers equipment, advice, and events. We met Bill Swift at Canoecopia in 2017 when we bought our second boats. He builds kayaks that are not only beautiful to look at but also incredibly comfortable to paddle for hours on end. They track well, and we've paddled long days on the Mississippi River in them.
